In 1973, Dr. Hideo Arakawa establishes in Tokyo

OUR HISTORY
1975
Develops for the first time "The Gripper mechanism" in the world.
1979
Develops a labor-saving tool "Hand Puller" for construction work.
1980
  • Launches the gripper mechanism as “New Fastener Series” at the exhibition 'JAPAN SHOP'.
  • Got win a prize Shoko Chukin Bank Award at JAPAN SHOP.
    Note: We have exhibited 'JAPAN SHOP' every year.
1981
Launches "Filatii Σseries" and Got win a prize the Technology Development Award at JAPAN SHOP.
1984
Got win the Good Design Award for AFS-11 & AF-3.
1986
Arakawa Hanging Systems USA Inc. in Portland, Oregon is established.
1987
  • Win a prize the Awards of Small and medium enterprises at JAPAN SHOP.
  • Exhibits NADI SHOW in NY, USA.
1991
  • Launches “Tension Gripper” cable systems for balustrading.
  • Win a prize the Director of JETRO award at JAPAN SHOP.
1992
  • Tokorozawa Factory begins operations.
  • Win a prizethe JAPAN SHOP Award at JAPAN SHOP.
1996

  • AF-3 Series got Good Design Long Life Design Award.
  • Tenshion Gripper got Good Design Awards of Small and medium enterprises.
  • Super Egg, key holder, got Good Design Award.
2000
Exhibits LIGHT & BUILDING in Germany.
2001
  • Exhibits EURO LUCE in Italy.
  • APH-51 & APH-52 got the Good Design Awards.
2002
  • Opens Showroom at Omotesando, known as one of the foremost 'architectural showcase' streets in the world.
  • Exhibits EUROSHOP in Germany.
2003
AM-20 got the Good Design Awards of Small and medium enterprises.
Cable balustarding system “NEO” got the Good Design Award.
2007
BU-70, SU-70 and Flameless (Panel hanger) got the Good Design Awards.
2008
  • Win a the JCD silver awards at Omotesando Showroom.
  • Opens Osaka Ofiice and Showroom.
2013
Exhibits EUROSHOP in Germany
2014
Dr. Hideo Arakawa, founder, has been assigned as Chairman. Mr. Hajime Arakawa has been assigned as President.
2015
Win a prize the DSA Silver Award at JAPAN SHOP2016 booth.
2017
  • Reopens New Tokyo showroom ‘TIERS’ at Omotesando, Shibuya
