The invisible and visible beauty of ARAKAWA GRIP

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of ARAKAWA GRIP, an installation "unique" by a spatial designer, Hiroto Yoshizoe, was exhibited at the TIERS GALLERY" on the 3rd floor of the company's headquarters on September 5, 2023. The concept of the installation was "to be omnipresent" or "to be anywhere" and a spatial design featuring the functional artistry and aesthetic presence of the "ARAKAWA GRIP" wire system was presented.
During the exhibition, a talk event was held with Hiroto Yoshizoe, Junya Maejima, who was in charge of graphics for the exhibition, Kaori Akiyama, who directed the exhibition, and Hajime Arakawa, president of ARAKAWA GRIP. Under the theme of "ubique" the discussions covered a wide range of topics, revealing the very essence of product development.

The NORI Project exploring the future of seaweed through ARAKAWA GRIP technology

As part of the Milan Design Week 2023, an exhibition organized by ARAKAWA GRIP was held at the Almach Art Gallery. At the venue, a contemporary design studio, we+, explored the potential of seaweed as material by pairing it with ARAKAWA GRIP to create an installation, "Less, Light, Local." It demonstrated the new creative expression by coupling ARAKAWA GRIP, which has created delicate ambiances by integrating materials such as glass and wood, and seaweed, which is durable, lightweight, and sustainable. Toshiya Hayashi and Hokuto Ando of we+ commented, "We wanted to explore the future of production and communicate new ways of using seaweed from Japan, a country with a large seaweed industry."
